Aluminum is strong and durable, but it conducts heat. A thermal break solves that: an insulating strip separates the inside and outside of the profile, so heat and cold cannot travel straight through the frame. Every SKATE window and door uses thermal break profiles.
How a Thermal Break Works
Each SKATE profile has three zones. The outer chamber handles water and drainage, the middle chamber holds the thermal break strips that slow heat transfer, and the inner chamber forms the airtight seal. The wider the thermal break, the better the insulation.
PA66 Thermal Break Strips
Our profiles are high-precision 6063-T5 aluminum with PA66 nylon thermal break strips made in-house - not PVC. PA66 withstands high temperatures, resists oxidation and corrosion, and keeps its strength over the life of the window. On our seamless welded windows the strips are rated to 260 °C, so they are not damaged during the 230 °C powder-coating cure.
Less Condensation, Warmer Rooms
When the inside of the frame stays warmer, moisture is less likely to condense on it in winter. Combined with argon-filled insulating glass, this keeps rooms comfortable near the window and helps prevent mold on sills and reveals.

FAQ
Q1: Are your thermal break strips PVC or PA66?
A: All SKATE systems use PA66 nylon thermal break strips, which we produce ourselves.
Q2: Can I get a Uw value for my windows?
A: Yes. Tested U-values range from 0.9 to 1.4 W/m²K across our 70, 75, 80, 90 and W110 series. The exact value depends on the series, glass and size; tell us your configuration and we will send the matching test report.
