Lift and Slide Glass Door – Effortless Movement, Airtight Closure
- The lift and slide glass door solves the fundamental conflict in every conventional sliding door: seals tight enough to keep weather out create friction that makes big panels hard to move. The lift-and-slide mechanism separates the two jobs. Turning the handle activates a cam that lifts the panel fractionally off the sill - out of its compressed seal - so even 300–400 kg panels glide on precision roller carriages with one-hand ease. Returning the handle lowers the panel back into full seal compression and engages the peripheral locking points, restoring an airtight, watertight closure.
- SKATE's system accommodates panels up to 3,200 mm wide and tall, enabling true floor-to-ceiling glass walls in two, three, and four-panel configurations, including pocket layouts where panels disappear into the wall.
