What is top-hung windows?
Top-hung window is a new form developed from casement windows. By installing a hinge on the upper side of the window, the window can be opened flat, or opened a little from above, and the open part is suspended in the air and fixed with the window frame through hinges. Because the window can only be opened about 10cm below, it is especially suitable for use when no one is at home, even if we forget to close the window outside on a rainy day, we do not have to worry about rainwater intrusion into the home.

Advantages of top-hung windows

Top-hung windows offer a variety of benefits, including:

1. increased ventilation: as the window opens outwards from the top, fresh air can enter the room from a higher position, thus improving air circulation.

01

2. Improved natural light: Up-hung windows can provide more natural light than other types of windows as they do not have horizontal rails to block the view.

02

3. Easy to operate: Upper-hung windows are easy to operate, even for children and the elderly. Upper-hung windows are light to open and close, making them ideal for areas with restricted access.

03

4. Energy efficient: Top-hung windows are energy efficient, especially when equipped with double-glazed windows. Double-glazed windows are better insulated, helping to minimize heat loss in winter and prevent heat build-up in summer.

04

5. Security: Upper-hung windows are more secure than other types of windows because the locking mechanism is located at the top of the window frame, making it more difficult to break from the outside.

Disadvantages of top-hung windows

Despite the many advantages of upper-hung windows, there are some disadvantages, including:

1. restricted view: the design of top-hung windows can obscure the view, especially when opened to a certain degree.

01

2. Cleaning: Cleaning upper-hung windows can be challenging, especially if they are installed high up in a building. You may need to use a ladder or special cleaning equipment to reach them.

02

3. Cost: Due to their unique design and construction, top-hung windows are more expensive than other types of windows.

03

4. Maintenance: Upper-hung windows require regular maintenance to ensure that they continue to work properly. Maintenance may include lubricating hinges and locking mechanisms, as well as replacing worn parts.
